Thanks for giving. ...

Thanks for giving. This day is ironic that we celebrate Thanksgiving, --my favorite holiday-- because the original day has been traditionally told to have been rejoined with the Native Americans, the First Nation, who brought material to share with the Pilgrams. Now we celebrate that day which happened before we decided to kill nearly all of them.

clear windshield

for me, it seems to happen a bit too unpredictably. that moment where everything is very clear, very centered, and it seems the vessel is empty, that i'm ok with everything, no matter what might happen at that instant, or the next, it would just be what it was. the great iAm. on salon.com someone wrote about that moment as being a 'clear windshield' moment, an analog to the time you really washed it and got in to drive on a day of pure blue sky --pilots call it Severe Clear-- and you had that wow this is great it's like the glass isn't even there. for me, it seems to happen a bit too unpredictably.

hierarchy of gifts

maslow laid out a hierarchy of needs it's been a long path for me to arrive at a hierarchy of gifts something we have and can give, by using them however, my hierarchical arrangement is not a typical one; each level does not necessarily depend on the ones below. instead, each level is, i propose, more beneficial, than the one below. i'll discuss these points in another post. here's the list, with the top being the most powerful, beneficial, and advanced. intuition wisdom imagination knowledge understanding

schrodinger's cat in montesorri school

don't look.  maria <montessori> taught this in her school, to her teachers, to not observe the child as they did their work. she knew, from experience as a child, you could feel someone watching you, and that you'd eventually look around and catch their eye.   then you didn't do the work the same way. being observed changes the behaviors. schrodinger postulated there was no way to observe without changing the result, especially the smaller things in this universe. bohr went further, maybe, and said all was merely shifting probabilities, and that possibly, observing them was what made things move to the next set of probabilities.
